Certification requirements contain 75 hours of classroom, laboratory, and clinical instruction. The length and cost of the training vary according to the center. The instruction prepares students to work in a variety of nursing venues. In order to obtain employment as a CNA in Portland, prospective candidates are required to complete a nursing assistant program, level 1. However, if individuals have completed 75 hours of training in a different state, then they will be permitted to take the certification exam.
